Yoga Dhara is an amazing Yoga teacher. This was my 3rd Yoga day in Kenmare and the location is fabulous, great company and if you want a "me" day of total calm and peace I would highly recommend it!’ Katie Murphy
“I have been attending Yoga Dhara’s weekly yoga sessions in Cork City for the last 5 odd years and can honestly say that she is the best yoga teacher I have ever had. She is excellent at guiding both the physical practice of yoga postures/breathing and the introspective more spiritual practice of yoga meditation. This on top of being a genuinely warm and loving person – very highly recommended!!!” Virginia, Cork
I did Yogadhara’s 8 month course with an open mind as to what it would entail, I love all her classes so I just trusted that this one would be worthwhile like everything else she does. Her authenticity flows through everything she does and she is a person of great integrity and presence.
It has been a very transformative 8 months and the mind tools I have learned have changed the approach I take in my life so much that I feel like a completely new person ! I don’t say that lightly. The practices are so profound, the energy of a lineage of ancient yogic wisdom and practice means that all the practices work at a very deep spiritual level, they really get you results.
In particular I am very grateful to have learned how to become my own witness, to observe myself and my own mind having emotions and reactions. To learn to notice, to develop Awareness of my own mind. I can see myself “in action” now and change the way I respond to life’s ups and downs.
To be able to move into different perspectives is a game changer in relationships, whether at work or at home and life in general improves as a result. The Meditation practices are very beautifully crafted and delivered. I loved the Yoga Nidra for pure relaxation guided by Yogadhara’s expert and soothing words. The Asanas we used were also carefully chosen and manageable. We learnt some Pranayama practices that were also clearly and immediately beneficial, as again these methods are timeless truths.
Being part of a group of genuinely lovely people to share and learn with is part of the course that gave support and a sense of community which was particularly special during this past year with the Covid lockdown. There was a weekly email contact from Yogadhara which was a caring check in so that you never felt alone. She is a gifted teacher holding the group as an accepting , inclusive non-competitive environment. Very inspiring indeed. Elaine O Leary
I LOVED the course..... the knowledge gained, the interaction, the postures, the challenges and the time I spent for me – doing something I was really enjoying.Linking the physical moves to the chakras and the impact on our bodies and mind state has been a step change for me, when I do my yoga time and sometimes its just 10 mins in the middle of the day or maybe while I’m still in bed, I now think about the benefit to both my body and my mind 😊 and I really am seeing a change, I feel stronger physically ...and mentally by just watching
Working thru the Yamas and Niyamas made me focus, be grateful for my strengths and to tackle weaknesses by taking a physical action – for example: Aparigrapa – I cleared out my wardrobe 😊 and now before I go and buy or order something – I check ...do I need it ? will it be used ? and mostly I find that its not necessary and the want goes away ....
I have mild asthma and without a doubt I find that the breathing exercises have had a real positive impact – I rarely need my inhaler now and feel my breathing is “cleaner” - if that makes sense. If I had to sum it up – the thing I got from the course that has made the biggest difference .... is just being aware ......
Of taking the time to be aware of what’s around me, Of being aware of whats going on for me and others,
Of being aware of my thoughts and the impact they have on how I deal with things and how that impacts other people
Of being aware of the lovely days, the garden, the animals Of being aware that I am here now and I am enjoying it 😊
Thank You Sue O Connor🌻💜
There will be small, funny unexpected moments you will experience along the way working with like minded, passionate people. There will be a lot about this course that makes you smile as I continue to do today.
Was it all roses and sunshine? Not at all but it was amazing how close we became as a group, even via Zoom, sensing and sharing each other’s fears, anxieties and struggles as we went through each stage of the course with tremendous support from Yogadhara whenever we needed it. We were all living it together. The biggest lesson for me was not the increased knowledge of yoga and asana practice but how I have become more aware of how I behave outwardly in my world and inwardly to myself. Recognising and acknowledging my weaknesses now as a positive not a negative.
One of the main aims of yoga is to lead us from unhappiness and suffering to the state of lasting peace and harmony this course has certainly given me the tools to make further progress in this direction and I hope it will for you too...Vivienne Shaw
Each month we met on zoom, where we delved into different aspects of everyday life, how the mind works and how we can get it to work in a beneficial way. We looked at forgiveness, strengths and weaknesses and so much more. If you wanted to share your experiences with the group you could, if you didn't there was no pressure - this was great and I have to say I learnt loads from listening to the others also. Yoga Dhara shared her knowledge and wisdom and gave us exercises to do during the month.
I absolutely loved the emails received from Yoga Dhara between sessions, which served as a reminder of the purpose of doing some regular practice. Yoga Dhara's presents on zoom is calm and easygoing and always has a bit of Cork humour thrown in for good measure. I would have no hesitation in recommending this course. Sinead Hurley
A yoga day with Yogadhara is the perfect antidote to stress and burnout. She is a fantastic teacher and makes everyone feel so welcome.Nestled between two mountains, the setting is spectacular. I came away feeling inspired, and that has stayed with me all week. I will definitely be returning for some more Yogadhara magic! Marie O Shea
I have attended and practised yoga since I was twenty one and found the benefits on the first day I attended a class. As I walked home feeling more peaceful and centered than I had ever felt..I new I had to continue and found teachers where ever I was!
Finding Yogadhara has been a joy and a huge benefit to how I approach my own practice as discipline is not my strong point. She has given me structure and clarity in how to manage my approach but also her teaching is so intuitive and aware you also feel she is always there and present for each person in the class! We have fun and laughter while we learn the principles and asanas of yoga in a comfortable, warm, friendly, inclusive space. If you are toying with the idea of yoga due to age or fitness..don't hesitate to join this class.you will come home feeling the benefits! 😊 Cloe Snoek

I've been practicing yoga with Yogadhara for over eight years. Her class is sanctuary and sanity for me, a place free from judgement, somewhere to let go and leave it all behind. She has helped my physical and mental vitality and with that a deeper spiritual understanding of myself. I look forward weekly to a mini retreat . I am given the space and strength to carry on no matter what life has on offer. Over these past eight years I struggle less and hope more. Yogadhara's smiling strength is infectious. She has given me tools that I carry with me, always. ..Niamh Leonard
